SPARC assisted UN office of Information and Communications Technology in implementation of an GIS enabled ICT solution for verification and issuance of Land Occupancy certificates.

A location-based mobile utility, integrated with the system, facilitates property data collection in online/offline mode and it’s transmission to a GIS server for verification with respect to the available baseline maps and decision of issuance of land (Property) occupancy certificates.

There are functionalities for tracking and monitoring of properties surveyed, number of surveys completed, number of approved/rejected properties and number of occupancy certificates issued.

The system serves the purpose of issue of occupancy certificates in an objective, transparent & efficient manner. It also helps policy makers in decision-making regarding collection, storage and tracking correct property information for planning and development of the city.
