Meticulous planning for movement of personnel and logistics during elections is the key to successful polls. SPARC supported OCAC in development and operation of a route management system in GIS containing information on movements routes (motorable, two-wheeler, pack tracks, pedestrian routes) along with mapping of forest areas along transport corridors, support facilities/ infrastructure along the routes (open fields suitable for landing of choppers, VHF towers, hospitals and dispensaries, govt. institutions, schools and nearby communication points- mobile, land line etc). The system facilitated information retrieval on each and every delivery routes from head quarter to the polling booth on need to know basis. Air navigation charts showing boundary GPS co-ordinates were generated for patrolling on vulnerable areas. Route charts and Atlases were generated for each route to provide map based information support to election personnel.
