Client: District Administration
Case Summary

Most of the developmental programs and schemes are implemented and monitored at the district level. The number of such programs have increased in the recent years resulting in inadequate monitoring and control. A district level GIS Help desk was developed and implemented with an objective to spatially collate all available administrative unit wise information on the planning and implementation of the welfare schemes such as IAY, PMGSY, PMGRY, IPDP, MNREGA etc. The application provides visual representation of the location of the implementation of scheme as well as the scheme attribute details. The application provides spatial query and analysis facilities for the district planners/ administrators to visually assess, identify the gap-areas and generate statistical result-sets in concurrence with the geography to take appropriate decision for rational distribution and efficient monitoring of the implemented schemes.

The GIS based Welfare Scheme Monitoring System helped in

  • Visually understand the geographic distribution of the implemented schemes Vs demography to identify the gap-area, requirement analysis and formulate deployment plan
  • Capacity building of the district support staff
