USAID FIRE (D) project has been assisting Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in line with the RAY (Rajeev Awas Yojana) guidelines of Govt. of India for implementation of slum up-gradation A slum cluster redevelopment plan was developed for the selected slum cluster to facilitate integration of the slums to the city systems, provision of better housing, basic amenities like drinking water, sewerage, health care facilities etc. The assignment involved a detailed Total Station Survey to estimate the plot area/ built-up area, Household level socio-economic assessment of each of the households present the selected slums. Both the Total Station data and the Household data were integrated in a GIS system to produce various thematic socio-economic and livelihood maps of the slums including land use plan, housing plan, road network plan, water supply plan, sewerage network plan etc. A detailed report on the study was developed containing the result-sets, analytic and thematic maps.

- Assessment of current status of land use, housing, communication, watersupply and drainage system and development of GIS maps for planning and analysis
- Forms base platform of GIS data sets for preparation of developmental plan for land use plan, housing plan, road network plan, water supply & sewerage network plan
