Case Summary
The assignment involved preparation of Master Plan for the Bhubaneswar city through development of a notified Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP). A GIS based approach was undertaken to integrate the master plan provisions such as: Roads, Drains, Open spaces, Residential areas, Commercial areas, Institutional areas, Green belts, etc on Revenue maps depicting each and every land parcels mapped from 1:4000/ 1:2000 scale cadastral maps. The GIS is being utilized for retrieving information on plan provisions, building plan approvals, infrastructure planning (transport, drainage, construction, regulations in/around airports, ASI protected monuments, green belts, open space around drains, planning of housing scheme etc). The assignment also involved development of a GIS based Application for quick Decision Support and Map based information retrieval
The GIS based Master Plan information System helped in
- Generation of Quick and Accurate land Information based on Plot level land use details
- Planning and Implementation Monitoring of land Schemes in Bhubaneswar City
- Visual interpretation and Decision Support for Infrastructure/ Utility Planning
- Quick decision/ approval of the Building Plan through system based visual access/ spatial representation of the applied parcel and it’s surrounding including information on Restricted/ Safety zone
